A cappella SATB choir; Latin; 3 min. ca.
The composer writes: The text for Hosanna filio David is appropriate to Palm Sunday. (The “filio David” is, of course, Jesus.) Musically, it was sung as a Gregorian chant; but has also been set to music by such composers as Franz Schubert and Tomás Luis de Victoria. The text is drawn from St. Matthew and Psalm 117.

Hosanna filio David:
Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini.
Rex Israel: Hosanna in excelsis!
Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus, quoniam in saeculum misericordia eius.
Deus meus es tu, et confitebor tibi, Deus meus, et exaltabo te.
Hosanna in excelsis!
TRANSLATION
